B30i is a chrome-plated tubular steel cantilever bar stool with footrest by Tecta.
A piece of furniture on whose curved frame those seeking rest could almost fly. In 1978, Axel Bruchhäuser (among others) of Tecta, in collaboration with Mart Stam, Marcel Breuer and Jean Prouvé, started the further development of this rear-legless construction of the 1920s. The aim was to increase the strength in the endangered cross-section of the steel tube. Following the constructive idea of "tube aplati", which Jean Prouvé had already been using since 1924, Axel Bruchhäuser received a German patent in 1987 and the European patent for the stackable cantilever chair "tube aplati" in 1990. Today, the Tecta cantilever chair is a classic, icon and trademark at the same time.
