A design as simple as it is comprehensible: Marcel Breuer stacked six drawer elements for the S41 chest and marked them alternately in contrasting colours: black and white.‎ The black lacquered cylindrical handles in turn either merge with the black front or stand out clearly.‎ A rhythm is created that is calmed down again by the black glass plate of the shelf.‎ A useful detail is revealed here: the slightly raised edges of the "Attika" ensure that no pens roll off the chest of drawers.‎

The chest of drawers with its distinctly architectural look knows how to set the scene.‎ Its perfect shape is made to hover by two side handles, as if to suggest that henceforth chests of drawers should not rest fixed to the floor, but should be able to be moved light-footedly on castors.‎

Breuer used the small chests of drawers, which live from their black and white contrasts, in his interiors at the Bauhaus Weimar from 1924 to 1926.‎ Expressive basic elements that were always based on human proportions and had a very aesthetic effect in their brilliance.‎ The typical handles are still a trademark today.‎

The Bauhaus Archive in Berlin only approves true-to-work and licensed reeditions of the original Bauhaus models.‎ These are marked with Oskar Schlemmer’s signet, which he designed for the Weimar State Bauhaus in 1922.‎ Even today, Tecta's Bauhaus models are based exactly on the proportions of the originals.‎
