B29P is a tubular steel cantilever chair without armrests, with upholstered seat and backrest by Tecta.
In 1978, Axel Bruchhäuser (among others) of Tecta, in collaboration with Mart Stam, Marcel Breuer and Jean Prouvé, started the further development of this rear-legless design of the 1920s. The aim was to increase the strength in the endangered cross-section of the steel tube. Following the constructive idea of "tube aplati", which Jean Prouvé had already been using since 1924, Axel Bruchhäuser received a German patent in 1987 and the European patent for the stackable cantilever chair "tube aplati" in 1990. Today, the Tecta cantilever chair is a classic, icon and trademark at the same time.
