THE CHAISE LONGUE IN ALL-BLACK VERSION

An updated structure, shell and black upholstery for the iconic Chaise longue à reglage continu - Noire, the ultimate chaise longue conveys the relationship between form and function in the balance between design purity and comfort.

PRODUCTION YEAR

2012

Among the global Cassina best-sellers, the Chaise longue à réglage continu - Noire is the quintessential chaise longue, designed in 1928, based on in-depth research into reclinable chairs. The three designers envisioned the Chaise longue à réglage continu as an expression of the concept of relaxation, with a focus on the human body – the connection between form and function that is reflected in the balance between geometric purity and ergonomic intent. The stability of the daybed, at any angle of inclination, is ensured by rubber tubing that covers the crosspieces of the underlying frame. As with the other models, the Chaise longue à réglage continu - Noire is based on the Modulor scale of proportions. This model has now been brought back in a "full black" version, with the base, structure and upholstery in black. With sustainability in mind, this chaise is made using circular materials. Padding is in polyester fibre and the headrest in recycled blown PET fibre wadding. The interior of the topper is now attached with velcro, a detail that allows easier disassembly of the product.

The recliner in trivalent chrome plated steel, as in the original design, is angled to promote relaxation and its stability is ensured through friction with the rubber tubes that sheathe the crosspieces on the base.
