Matteo Zorzenoni

Matteo Zorzenoni was born in Treviso in 1978. After attending the Art Institute, where he developed his interest in art and design, he studied at IED in Venice, graduating in Industrial Design in 2001. He collaborated with the IUAV University of Venice for several years, first as an assistant for professors Marc Sadler, Riccardo Blumer, and Denis Santachiara and then as an adjunct lecturer. He currently leads workshops and courses for IED in Madrid and the Domaine de Boisbuchet cultural centre in Lessac. After working as a consultant for Fabrica di Benetton from 2004 to 2008, he began collaborating with the Spanish designer Jaime Hayon, managing the office's Italian branch.

Zorzenoi's work focuses on the study of the potential of materials. With the help of highly qualified artisans, he uses concrete, glass, marble and metal in an innovative way. He collaborates with prestigious design companies, including Cappellini (Crystal Ball glass vase), Mercedes Benz, Replay, Londonart (Sky and Sand wallpaper), Alcantara, Bosa Ceramiche, Miniforms (Ringo, Mastea and Chap tables), Somethingood, Agusta Westland, Il Fanale (the Bloom series of lamps) and Dall'Agnese (tables and chairs). His collaboration with Novamobili led to the production of the Torii dining table, the Navy chair, the Kubì pouf and the Velvet furniture line consisting of a bed, sofa, pouf and armchair.

At the 2017 Fuorisalone in the Ventura Centrale district, he presented a project where he exhibited some products (lamps, accessories and blown glass elements produced in collaboration with MM Lampadari, Nason Moretti and Scapin) in compositions of "micro Sets". His collaboration with Scapin has been very fruitful. He designed several furniture items, including the Cantilever wood and marble coffee tables, the Bones open bookcase, the Oblò sideboards and the Settebello ash wood sideboard, the Clip, Cathedral and Bent wall mirrors, the Sune ceramic coffee tables and the Fillet and Ellipse tables. Major museums have selected his work, including MAXXI in Rome, the Triennale in Milan, the London Design Festival, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Saint-Étienne Art and Design, and the Venice Architecture Biennial.
