Collection: Constantin Wortmann

Constantin Wortmann studied industrial design in Hamburg and Munich. In the second year he worked first as an intern then as a freelance designer in the team of lighting maestro Ingo Maurer. In 1998, still being a student he co-founded the design studio Büro für Form together with Benjamin Hopf. 1999 Graduation and first exhibition of prototypes in Leipzig and Frankfurt. In Leipzig Constantin was introduced to Thomas Schulte, CEO of next. Many lighting projects and lots of art work (logo, fairstands, catalogues, fotos, website, ...) for next followed (until today!).

In 2000 Büro für Form had its debut in Milan on Salone Satellite and started cooperations with habitat and serien. 2001 they designed the Fingermax, a stick on fingerbrush for kids and won the IF award best of category. In the coming couple of years Wortmann and Hopf kept on doing prototypes and showing designs in Milan and Cologne. The result were projects for Ycami, VIBIA, Modoluce, Kundalini and Authentics. In 2004 BFF started to collaborate with OSRAM, working on future concepts with new lighting technologies (Planon, LED, Oled) and withKoziol. Free design projects for their own brand Items by Büro für Form also started in the year 2004.

While participating at designboom`s mart in New York in 2005 Constantin met Paul Rowan, co founder of umbraand they started a long lasting collaboration. While Benjamin Hopf dropped out of the studio and has been going new ways since 2006, Constantin Wortmann started to work on upmarket accessoires for Georg Jensen and lighting for crazy brand DARK and is once more toying with the viewing habits of his audience.
