His Work SEEMED to Be Heading Towards The Design of Subsidized Housing When in 1979, His Project for the Cartiglia Bed Was Selected for the Exhibition "Ltalienische Möbel Design 1950/80", HELD at the Stadt Museum in COLOGNE, Drawing Attation to His Work as a Designer. A FEW YEARS LATER, He Began a Close Collaboration with Zanotta
His Meeting with Aurelio Zanotta Allowed Barbieri to Realise His Innovative Ideas, Thanks to the Support of An Excellent Technical Department in Developing High-Tech Production Processes. This SYNERGY LED to iconic Objects Like The Orione Table (1996) Unusual Play of Geometries. Orione Was Followed by the Lia Chair (1999), Made of Aluminium Alloy Using the Die-Casting Technique, and the Kate Chair (2009) Polyamide using the air moulding technique.
In 2008, Roberto Barbieri Working with Another Prestigious Brand in the Furniture Sector, Poliform, for What the Trrevi Table (2005), The Flute Table Collection (2008) with an Aluminium Base and Lacquered MDF or Marble Top, and the Baba Coffee Table Collection (2012). Roberto Barbieri Furniture Is Characterized by Clean Lines, Light Volumes, Informal Elegance and A Design That Make It So Time It is Still Present in The Catalogues of the two Companies.
