Collection: LucidiPevere
Paolo Lucidi, born in 1974 with a diploma in applied arts, and Luca Pevere, born in 1977 and educated at the scientific high school, both hail from Friuli-Venezia Giulia. They met during their first year at the Milan Polytechnic, attending courses in Industrial Design. These studies led to their graduation, and introduced them to the work of such masters as Castiglioni, Magistretti and Munari. After apprenticeships in established design studios (Lucidi with Piero Lissoni and Marc Sadler, Pevere with Clino Trini Castelli and Marco Ferreri), they signed their first project in 2003. In 2006, they founded the LucidiPevere studio, based initially in Milan, then in Udine and, since 2014, in Palmanova. This marked the start of intense design activity that saw them collaborate with important brands to produce objects characterised by compositional rigour and handcrafted quality.
LucidiPevere has designed a rich and varied range of objects. They collaborated with Kristalia to produce the Brioni family of sofas, dormeuse, armchairs and poufs for indoor and outdoor use, and the LP chairs and tables in the Boiacca line with wood and cement versions. They created numerous products for Emu (the Tiki garden bed, the Darwin furniture family, the Riviera chairs, stools and armchairs) and Armet (the Randa sled chairs and stools, the Piana Marbles, Clivio and Tool coffee tables). For De Padova, they produced the Yak line of armchairs and for Ligne Roset, the Garden Pack garden tables, Backpack outdoor sofas and armchairs, Paipai sofas, armchairs and footstools, and the Alburini round table. They also work with Agape producing the Marsiglia line of washbasins and bathtubs, and Driade, for whom they designed the Bolla candleholder in Murano glass.
Their products have been exhibited in galleries and museums and have received such awards as the Cristalplant Design Contest 2014; the DesignPreis Deutschland; the Red Dot Design Award; IF Design Award; Good Design Award; two ADI special mentions for the XXIII Compasso d'Oro; the Best of the Year Award. In 2005 they received the Maniago Design Award for the Taj project, and in 2008 the Young&Design Special Mention for the Mobius project. They lecture at various design institutes and schools and are often guests at international events, including Vienna Design Week in 2011 for the Passionswege initiative.
