Collection: Bartoli Design

Bartoli Design was founded in 2007 by Anna and Paolo Bartoli, children of the well-known architect and designer Carlo Bartoli (1931-2020), author of numerous projects, whose long career was consecrated in 2016 with the Compasso d'Oro ADI prize. After obtaining his degree in Architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1957, Carlo Bartoli founded his studio in 1960, with intense activity in architecture and interior design. His works received numerous awards and have been exhibited in Italy and abroad in institutions like the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Stadt Museum in Cologne, the MoMA in New York and the Triennale Design Museum in Milan. The Gaia armchair designed for Arflex has entered the permanent collections of the latter two. Among his most successful products is the 4875 chair created for Kartell, the world's first polypropylene chair, exhibited at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The jury of Young&Design in 2012 recognised him as an 'Apostle of Design'.

Today, the Bartoli Design studio rests on the important cultural and professional legacy of Carlo Bartoli. His children, Anna and Paolo, both graduates in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano now lead the office. The Monza-based studio carries out design, art direction and consultancy activities in architecture, interior design, fittings, furnishings and urban design. Combining profound knowledge of industrial technologies and processes, as well as craft techniques, Bartoli Design boasts numerous collaborations with leading furnishing sector brands. The partnership with Segis is particularly fruitful. In fact, it gave life to the Breeze chair, characterised by simple lines, versatility and functionality; the Longway collection, ribbon-shaped upholstered benches; the Camel family of chairs, in sled, trestle, stackable and swivel versions (awarded the Golden Key Award). With Segis, they received the XXI Compasso d'Oro ADI in 2008 for the R606Uno chair designed with Fauciglietti Engineering.

They also created several products for Bonaldo. They include the Sol table distinguished by its slender shape and elegant lightness; the Mellow line dining tables characterised by soft, curved forms; the Still and Octa tables awarded the Red Dot 2013 and Good Design Award 2014; the Mercury Curva chair awarded the Good Design Award 2015. Collaboration with Lago resulted in the Janeiro table, selected by the 2021ADI Design Index. With Rexa, they produced the O_O washbasin, which won the BIG SEE Product Design Award 2022. The 'Tube' sofa, produced by Rossi di Albizzate, was awarded the IF Award for Good Industrial Design 1995. It is depicted on Italian postage stamps in the 'Italian design for a new domestic landscape' series.
