With the side table K10N, Tobias Groß transforms the minimalist folding wonder K10 into a fresh, colourful piece of furniture with surprises. As an inconspicuous cube, Erich Brendel's table seems to elude discovery. But then it conjures up a smile on the viewer's face: it unfolds, becomes a Swiss cross and reflects its source of inspiration - the strict lines of Walter Gropius' Director's Room.
In his reinterpretation of the K10, Tobias Groß redeems Brendel's table from its invisibility and designs it with contrasting hues. In doing so, he focuses on the constructive character of the table. The surfaces and supports of the K10 have been made more filigree, creating a light, flexible piece of furniture. The smaller brother of the former tea table by Erich Brendel.
A new two-tone colour scheme makes the table attractive for contemporary living. On the surface, Tobias Groß works with calm, muted colours ranging from olive to red and blue. He highlights the profile edges with fresh pastel shades. They run around the table and, depending on the position of the table tops, give it a new, always surprising appearance.
