Collection: Sauerbruch Hutton Architects

Sauerbruch Hutton is an international agency for architecture, urban planning and design, founded in London in 1989 and now based in Berlin. We create sustainable solutions for architectural projects, urban master plans, interiors, furniture and exhibitions. A conscientious handling of space and material; curiosity for technical and spatial innovation, as well as responsible use of existing resources constitute the focus of our architectural practice. Our most important resource is an experienced team of 120 employees, who work in an interconnected, democratic and interdisciplinary environment, sharing tasks and responsibilities in a process of intensive dialogue. This equal and open working culture finds its equivalent in a contemporary company structure that sees responsibilities carried by a group of 19 partners and 10 associates.

As architects, we act as trustees on behalf of clients and society as a whole, striving to reconcile potentially divergent interests. In this we associate our work with the dual technical-cultural mission to improve the quality of life of prospective users and future generations in general, and so to contribute to public life, the well-being of the city and environmental quality. With a wide range of international projects we have over 30 years of practical experience in different scales, typologies and contexts. Our projects are developed with a creative and critical mind, questioning standards and seeking to push boundaries. Sauerbruch Hutton have been awarded numerous national and international prizes.
